- Rovaniemi: Located just 8 km south of the Arctic Circle, the city of Rovaniemi is considered the capital of Finnish Lapland. With a population just shy of 62,000, it is the regional administrative and commercial centre as well as a major hub of tourism and recreation in the area. Although there has been continuous human settlement in the Rovaniemi area since at least the Stone Age, few of the buildings date back before 1944 as most of the city was destroyed during WWII. When the city was rebuilt, it was designed with input by famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who planned the city’s footprint in the shape of a reindeer’s head and designed several of its new structures. Not designed by Aalto, but arguably the most popular attraction of the Rovaniemi area, is the Santa Claus Village. Other popular activities available near Rovaniemi include dog sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, reindeer farm visits and ice fishing.

Know Before You Go
- Specialized infant seats are available
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- The driver of a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license (class B). The driver must be able to present the driving license (a copy or photo is also acceptable) and sign a liability waiver.
- Due to safety reasons, children younger than 15 years travel in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Children at least 15 years old and at least 140 cm tall can sit behind a driver as passengers.
- This tour is not available for children younger than 6 years old.
- Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Travel insurance and other emergencies are not included.
- The snowmobile driver is responsible for any damages to the vehicle, with a maximum personal self-liability of 950€ per person per snowmobile in case of an accident.
- Alcohol consumption is not allowed during the tour, and guests cannot participate if intoxicated.
- Each vehicle accommodates 2 guests, and guests can switch drivers halfway through the tour for a shared driving experience.
